Test gate takings
PA Auckland The gate-takings for the second Scotland-New Zealand rugby test at Eden Park on Saturday were 3110,000 below the “possible" for the test, according to the chairman of the Auckland Rugby Union, Mr Ron Don. Mr Don said yesterday that this was the clearest indication of the effect of the live telecast of the test. “Because of some confu-
sion about ticket sales or. Saturday we tended to over estimate the crowd,'’ said Mi Don. who said on Saturdaj the attendance was 44,000. "Only 1400 tickets were sold at the ground before the game. We thought there had been more sold. So the actual crowd was just over 40,000. “This produced a gross gate of 3280,000. in round figures, whereas the takings from a capacity crowd would have been $390,000.''
