PA Gisborne A man who was the subject of a police search yesterday walked into a police station unharmed, on Monday evening. Mr Geoffrey Peter Hughes, aged 18. of Opotiki. who works in Gisborne, had been missing since his abandoned car was found at Otoko. north of Gisborne, on Sundaynight. The police said that after his car broke down Mr Hughes went looking for a house with a light. He became confused and eventually emerged from scrub near Te Karaka. 15km from where his car was left and 32km north-west of Gisborne. The police said he was suffering from mild exposure, but was otherwise all right, A party of 28 men and a helicopter searched for him on Monday.
