Arbor Day planting
Arbor Day will be marked by a tree-planting ceremony at Elizabeth Park, above the Sign of the Takahe, this afternoon. The ceremony has been J organised by the Summit Road Society and the Canterbury Education Board. School children from the
Branston Intermediate and the Ham, Banks Avenue. Lyttelton Main, and Heathcote primary schools will plant a varity of native trees in the area. The planting will begin, at 1.30 p.m. If the weather) is bad, it will be postponed, a week, to June 10. *„ >
