Linwood pair win bowls
PA Timaru W. Trembath and Mrs J. Lennon of Linwood, have won the South Island indoor bowls pairs title at Timaru. The final against a Winton combination of W. Kane and G. Gielens produced a high standard of bowls with. Trembath playing an attacking game to, heads set up by his lead, Mrs Lennon. Trembath gained an early lead which he built on slowly with a break coming at the thirteenth end. Trembath, being one down on the.head, trailed the jack for two shots to make the score 14-7.
Although Kane scored a three when the next head was killed, he was unable to close the gap and Trembath and Lennon won 19-10. In the fours. Otago filled the j.< first and second platings.
