Man advertised self as woman — police
PA Dunedin Advertisements had been put in magazines and newspapers throughout New Zealand late last year by a man. aged 40. purporting to be a female fashion model, aged 24. seeking male company, the District Court at Dunedin has been told. The man was convicted on 29 charges of false pretence involving the obtaining of $2O from various men by means of his deception. ; The Court was fold that
the man had told the police that he needed material for a new book he was writing on fantasies of the male sex life. The police had recovered $570 from the man, who had admitted that he had received another 20 letters, some of which had contained cheques or money, before the police had become involved in the' matter. This money had been spent. Judge Murray suppressed the man’s name and remanded him on bail of $4OO to June 12.
