Algerian Minister survives crash
NZPA-Reuter Bamako, Maji The~Algerian Foreign Minister (Mr Mohamed Benvahia) survived when his plane crashed near Bamako, but Mali Government officials said yesterday that three people had died. Mr Benyahia was being treated by French doctors at Bamako’s main hospitaL Mali officials said he had multiple fractures. istry official and the pilot also survived the crash which happened during " a violent storm. Mali’s President (General Moussa Traore) visited the three men in hospital yesterday. Radio Mali said" later the injured were in a satisfactory condition. It was not clear exactly when the Frenchrbuilt jet came down, but Mali officials said there apparently had been a long gap between the crash and the time rescuers arrived on the scene. 7 km south of Bamako Airport.
