A record 26.200 people attended the Canterbury Furniture Show which ended at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday evening. The feature of the show for the manufacturers who displayed their products was the response of North Island retailers. About two-thirds of an estimated $2 million worth of orders taken at the show, were from the North Island, according to the president of the Canterbury Furniture Manufacturer’s Federation, Mr M. W. Richardson.
