St Bede’s wins
A good back display gave St Bede's College the advantage against Linwood High School in the final of the inaugural secondary schools’ seven-a-side rugby tournament at St Bede's yesterday. St Bede's won the final, 16-6. Papanui High School was the surprise packet of the tournament, organised by the Marist club, and was unlucky to lose its semi-final against Linwood, 1012. In the other semi-final, St Bede's downed Marist, 8-0. Christchurch Boys’ High School beat St Thomas, 12-10, to win the plate final.
