Receipts (a) Motor Drivers’, Building and other Miscellaneous Licences and Fees $319,300 (b) Commission, Rent, etc. $515,634 (a) National Roads Board Subsidies $607,808 (d) Petroleum Tax (e) Outstanding Ra;es and Other Balances $99,633 Amount required from General Rates $5,250,811 $7,088,136 Payments (a) Administration, Salaries, Printing and Stationery,' j> Postages, Telephone sand General Office Expenses $2,222,421 (b) Items of a general nature, including Maintenance of Buildings, Reserves, Community Centres and Halls, Jellie Park Lido, Libraries etc. $1,707,170 (c) Contributions to Canterbury Museum, .Canterbury United Council, Riccarton Bush, Town Hall, Civil Defence, Christchurch Metropolitan Refuse Disposal < 769 2 5 q Scheme ' (d) Separate Account — street lighting $ 137,851 (e) County Works including Maintenance and Construction of Roads, Footpaths, Channels, Refuse Collection, and Works Loan Charges $2,196,080 (f) Transfers to Plant, Nursery and Plantation Renewal Accounts $55,414 B $ 7 ,° 88 '1 86 NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES It is hereby further publicly notified, that it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at an Ordinary Meeting of the Waimairi County Council, to be held at 7pm on Wednesday the 17th day of June, 1981 in the Council Chambers, Corner Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, Fendalton, to make a Uniform Annual Fee and levy the undermentioned Rates and Charges on the Rateable Capital Value of all rateable properties appearing in the Valuation Rolls, now in force in the County of Waimairi for the period commenced the First Day of April 1981 and ending on the Thirty-first day of March, 1982. 1. CONSOLIDATED RATES on the Rateable Capital Value of all rateable properties in the several Ridings of the County as follows: Styx Riding .60356 cents in the $ Marshland Riding.s739s cents in the $ Belfast Riding .60255 cents in the $ Harewood Riding .61384 cents in the $ Papanui Riding .58900 cents in the $ Wairarapa Riding.s6l99 cents in the $ Avonhead Riding ,50969 cents in the $ Fendalton Riding .52927 cents in the $ ‘ Middleton Riding .52859 cents in the $ The above Rates will be made under the provisions of Sections 137 and 175 of the ‘Local Government Act 1974' and the ‘Rating Act 1967’ and any amendments thereto. 2. WATER RATES AND CHARGES under the provisions of Sections 143, 158, 159 and 166 of the ‘Local Government Act 1974’ and the ‘Rating Act 1967' and any amendments thereto as follows: (a) On every separately rateable property to which water is supplied from the Water Supply System, a Rate of: .12345 cents (c) in the dollar ($) on the basis of Capital Rateable Value provided that if that rate would produce less than Ten Dollars ($10) in respect of any separately rateable property to which water is supplied, a Rafe of. Ten Dollars ($10) be made and levied. (b) On every separately rateable property to which water can be, but is not supplied, situated, within one hundred metres from any part of th® water works, a Rate not exceeding half of the Rates mentioned in paragraph (a) above. (c) Kainga Wafer supply ” .06172 cents (c) in the dollar ($) on the basis of Capital Rateable Value provided that if that rate would produce less than Five Dollars ($5.00) in respect of any such separately rateable property to which water is supplied, a Rate of Five Dollars ($5.00) be made and levied. (d) Extraordinary Supply — Per Meter Residential, commercial, industrial etc: Ten point eight cents (10.8 c per cubic metre or point forty nine point one cent (49.1) per one thousand gallons for properties supplied from the water supply system. Non rateable Properties and Properties not paying Water Rate on Rate Assessment: Twelve point five cents {12.5c) per cubic metre of fifty-six point two cents (56.2 c per one thousand gallons for properties supplied from the water supply system. Minimum Annual Charge — Non Rateable Properties: Ten Dollars ($ 10) (e) Builders’ Water Supply The following water charges shall be made: 1. Where the valu» of the proposed building as shown on the building permit application: (a) Does not exceed $6OOO — $ 1.00 (b) For each complete additional $lOOO an additional 25 cents. 2. A water meter shall be installed at the applicant’s cost on non-rateable and other properties as determined by the County Engineer. Where a meter is installed, an initial allocation will be calculated by apportioning the fees payable under Clause 1 above, by the following formulae: Rateable properties 10.8 cents per cubic metre or 49.1 cents each 1000 gallons for rateable properties Non-rateable properties 12.5 cents per cubic metre or 56.2 cents each lODO gallons for non-rateable properties. Water used in excess of the initial allocation provided for under the above formulae will be charged at the same rates of and 49.1 and 56.2 cents each 4.546 cubic metres (1000 gallons). 3. it is hereby further publicly notified that it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at an Ordinary Meeting to be held at 7pm on Wednesday, the 17th day of June, 1981 in the Council Chambers, Corner Clyde and Jeffreys Roads, Fendalton to make and levy: Uniform Annual Fe® at $78.00 per container will be made and levied for those properties within the County where a night soil collection service is given provided that where any property requires the servicing of more than one container per week such additional service shall be arranged through Council. Th® said Uniform Annual Fee will be made under th® provision's oF Section 163 of the ‘Local Government Act 1974’ and will be levied for the period commenced the First Day of April 1981 ending on the Thirty-First Day of March, 1982. , . e Church Corner Parking Area Loan Special Rate. A rate of .13450 cents in the $ Capital Value on those properties comprising the Church Corner Car Parking Area Loan — Special Rating Area. 4. Other Authorities Rafes. The Council will collect such rates as are made by Special Order by the Following authorities: Christchurch Drainage Board —at its meeting to be held on 16 June, 1981 Christchurch Transport Board — at its meeting to be held on 30 June, 1981 North Canterbury Catchment Board — at its meeting to be held on 26 June, 1981 5 Minimum Total Rates. Minimum total rates payable in all cases shall be $5.00. 6. Rates by Instalments It is' hereby further publicly notified that the before, mentioned Rates Charges ana Uniform Annual Fee and the rates levied by other Authorities and collected by the Council for the 1981/82 Rating Year shall be due and payable by instalments which shall be subject to an additional charge of ten per cent (10%) to be added to any unpaid portion of each such instalment, on the.dates specified in the Special Order passed by the Council at its meeting held on the 15th November, 1973 and confirmed at its meeting held on the 13th December, 1973, such dates being as specified below, namely: Instalment No. AWtaJ'&e 1 16 April, 1981 1 Jun®, 1981 2 16 July, 1981 1 September, 1981 3 16 October, 1981 1 December, 1981 4 16 January, 1982 1 March, 1982 The instalments for the Rating Year commencing on the First Day of April, 1981 and ending on the 31st Day of March, 1982 shall be due and payable on the dates set out above, together with the date an additional charge of ten per centum (10%) shall be added to any unpaid portion of each instalment, provided that any occupier within the meaning of the said Act who pays the full year's assessment before the ten per centum (10%) additional charge is due to be added on the 'second instalment namely Ist day of September, 1981, shall have the ten per centum (10%) additional charge on the first instalment remitted, if the same has been charged. Any ratepayer desirous of paying his rates for th® 1981/82 rating year in one payment may do so without incurring the 10% additional charge on the unpaid first instalment, provided the amount of the rates for the full year is paid no later than 31 August, 1981. ■ The above mentioned Rates Charges and Uniform Annual Fee shall be payable as above at the Office of the Waimairi County Council, Corner Clyde and Jeffrey* Roads, Fendalton, Christchurch. - Total net capital rateable value $941,461,370. The Valuation Rolls and Rate Books containing particulars of all the above Rafes, and the Uniform Annual Fee are open for inspection without fee by all ratepayer* during office hours which are from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday.
