Strike at Firestone

The afternoon .shift oi about 100 rubber workers at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company factory in Papanui went on strike yesterday in protest against the dismissal of a rubber worker. The afternoon shift runs from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., but the workers went on strike after holding a stop-wctk meeting at 5.15 p.m. Workers on other shifts will meet this morning to decide what action to take.
