The Reserve Bank reports that sales of Government Securities by specialised dealers totalled $29,498,080 in the week ended April 16. Four transactions totalling $3,300,000 involved Treasury bills. The weighted average yield for Treasury bill sales was 11.010 per cent. Sales of government stock totalled $26,198,080 from 34 : transactions. The weighted average yield for stocks maturing under two years was 11.923 per cent; from two to five years 12.731 per cent; and more than five years 12.858 per cent. These transactions do not include sales and purchases with the Reserve Bank. The Reserve Bank also reported that during this period $6,800,000 of 26-week and $26,010,000 of 13-week Treasury bills were issued. A total of ; $13,435,000. was redeemed. The total of Treasurv bills oh issue as at April 17 was $499,530,000, including $43,730,000 held by the Reserve'.Bank.
