Soldier buried
NZPA - London More than 4000 people ye- ' sterday thronged the cemetery at North Shields-for the ’‘-funeral of Driver Paul Bulman. aged 19, who was killed by the huge Irish Republican Army landmine in Northern Ireland last-, week. Among themourners was Liz O’Connor, aged 19, whom he planned to marry.
In Belfast, the police captured a Soviet-made RPG7 rocket launcher yesterday when they intercepted an I.R.A guerrilla squad moving weapons in what security sources said was a run-up to a big guerrilla attack. The seizure was significant because police sources ’ believed the weapon was the last of its kind held by the I.R.A.
A spokesman said the capture came when a police patrol ..spotted two known gunmen ■of the outlawed I.R.A's . “Provisional” wing driving a stolen car and challenged them. And the I.R.A. hunger stiker, Brendan McLaughlin, who has a perforated stomach ulcer, has agreed to accept medical treatment. Republican sources said he would continue his fast in the Maze Prison.
