Taiwanese arrive
PA Auckland The 21-man Taiwanese soccer squad arrived in Auckland yesterday hoping to take a point from “the very strong New Zealand side.” The tour manager, Mr Shih-fa Yang, said that the Taiwanese players were determined to do their best against New Zealand: "Of course we are hoping to win, but we will be happy with a
draw.” Defence in numbers was the key to the Taiwanese taking a point from New Zealand in Taipei and another packed penalty area can be expected on Saturday when the sides meet. When the Taiwanese leave New Zealand they will travel to Fiji, then to Australia and will complete their away matches against Indonesia in Jakarta.
