Furniture display open to public

The organisers of the Canterbury Furniture Show at the Christchurch Town Hall expect 20,000 visitors this week. Billed as displaying New Zealand's finest furniture and fabrics, the show will be open to the public today, tomorrow, and Friday from 10 a.m. .to 9 p.m. The president of the Canterbury Furniture Manufacturers' Federation, Mr M. W. Richardson, said the displays were a "showcase" for the industry. "Furniture manufacturing is a fashion-conscious industry.
