■ The National Party has chosen a Christchurch land agent;- Mr J. Baker, as its candidate for St Albans in this year's General Election. Mr Baker, who is '46, was the only National nomination for the seat.
A recurring back injury has forced Mr N. W. Minchington to withdraw as Social Credit's candidate for Christchurch Central.
