Man charged with robbing woman
An unemployed butcher charged with robbing a woman of $3B was remanded in custody until June 9 when he appeared before Judge Paterson in the District Court yesterday. No plea was entered by Allan James Cadogan, aged 18. I He is alleged to have | robbed Patricia Joan ■ Stephenson of the money at i Ashburton on May 25. I At the request of Sergeant W. J. turntable, two speakers and a cabinet, valued at $l2OO, was convicted and remanded on bail to June 9 for a probation report and sentence. Sergeant McCormick said overnight on February 12-13 > the complainant’s premises s were burgled and property > valued at $4233 was taken. Maddock told the police she gave the rifle to a friend and had sold the amplifier, turntable, speakers and cabinet for $BO. She claimed she had only received $2O for her involvei ment. '
