University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC LECTURESHIP AND ASSOCIATE LECTURESHIP IN SOCIOLOGY (Post 81/48) APPLICATIONS are invited for two lectureship positions and one associate lectureship ‘ position in the sociology discipline of the School of Social and Economic Development. Applicants for tile lectureship position should have a solid background in research, demonstrated ability in teaching at the tertiary level, and have a . completed PhD. Preference will be given to candidates with specialisation and/or interests ill two or more of the following: Pacific societies and cultures, sociologj' of developing countries, political sociology, family and kinship, migration and urbanisation, race and ethnic relations, social stratification, population studies, crime and deviance. Candidates with other specialisms will be considered also. Salary in accordance with experience and qualifications in one of the following scales: Associate Lecturer: $F6761$10,996, Lecturer: $F9169-$12,832. In addition, the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance, partly furnished accommodation at 12J per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance in lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary.
