Mr Muldoon’s book
Sir—With the advent of the third Muldoon book "My Way,” it will soon become evident after the next’ election that the sequence of these literary masterpieces has been somewhat premature. The first book, “The Rise and Fall of a Young Turk” should have been
left until the end of the miracle man's term of office which will end this year. Maybe someone will then step in and write a book on the rise and fall of the National Party. From 1960 to 1972 Sir Keith Holyoake steered the party and the country to great heights until the grossly overrated Robert Muldoon gate-crashed the 1975 election and by 1981 reduced this country to a third-rate State. Mr Muldoon’s latest book. “My Way.” reflects his dictatorial ambitions which, but for the opposition from various quarters, would have turned New Zealand into a totalitarian State. However, all is not lost for the coming election will provide this country with a long awaited coalition government which I trust will comprise the brains of each of the three parties. — Yours, etc..
L. WESTNEY. Mav 24. 1981.
