‘Bridge carver’ wanted
The man who (wants' a small piece of the old South Brighton Bridge for sentimental reasons should get in touch. with' the Christchurch City Council. An elderly man came forward when the new bridge was opened recently, but he has not been seen since.
He wanted the piece of wood that had his name carved in it. He had carved his name as a child. T-he council later agreed to save that piece of wood for him. when the bridge was demolished. He did .not leave his name and address.
