New. top-level; appointments have been made-at the Union Shipping Group, Ltd and its subsidiaries following {he death in early April of Sir Reginald Smytte. . Mr R. H. Pettigrew of Napier has been named chairman of New. Zealand Maritime Holdings, Ltd and deputy chairman of Union Shipping Group' and the Union Steam Ship Company. Ltd. He had been deputy chairman of New Zealand Maritime Holdings and a board member of the Union Shipping Group and Union Steam Ship Company since 1972. He is also deputy chairman and managing director of Freightways Holdings, Ltd, and deputy chairman of N.Z. Forest Products. Ltd. He is also on the boards of a number of other prominent New Zealand companies and represents the freight forwarding interests on the Transport Advisory Council. • Mr W. J.'
