Visor space heaters versatile, efficient
Versatility, elegance and efficiency are the distinguishing qualities of the Saxon Inbuilt space heater by Visor. With a clean simplicity of design incorporating copper panel surrounds, the Inbuilt is proving very popular this winter. Significantly slower burning than an open fire, Saxon’s high efficiency and low fuel usage gives summer warmth on cold winter nights. If the spacious fire grate is filled in the evening, it keeps a home warm with 8 to 10 hours of continuous burning while the family sleeps. The same applies to the free-standing Console version. Both models have the major advantage of using coal, coke, carbonettes and wood for fuel, and the controlled air flow, simple to adjust, guarantees they are easy to light and maintain. If it. is preferred, however, the Saxon can be. readily converted to a log burner.
The extra efficiency of a closed unit is combined with an open fire feeling of cosiness by means of the glass door through which the warmth source is visible. For even greater efficiency, the Inbuilt model has a baffle in the fire box to promote double burning. The Saxon is simple to clean, with a deep ash tray that is readily accessible and easy to remove. The flue pack “kit” to accompany the Saxon is designed for both safety and efficiency, in compliance with New Zealand Standard 7421. The Visor wet-back pack is an optional’ extra for both the Inbuilt and the Console to boost the hot water supply and save on electricity. The Inbuilt can be fitted into an existing fireplace with little modification and the flue is fitted within the existing chimney. If there is already a wet back, much of the existing-
pipe work for it can be retained to connect with the new appliance.
In response to the numerous price hikes for oil and electricity, the last. 18 months to two years has seen a major swing back to solid fuel burners. To some extent there has
been a return to the use of open fires but with the emphasis on efficiency, space heaters have enjoyed. a greater popularity.
As the fire is visible through the glass doors of the Saxon models, its charm and fascination as a focal point is retained.
