Human Rights Commission
. Sir,—Now that the Prime, Minister has said he considers the law to be an ass, you may wish to open your correspondence columns more widely to this point of view. Mr Muldoon named the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as being the basis upon which our own law is built. This impressivelytitled document came from the United Nations, an assembly where the majority vote is held jointly by dictators, and the puppets of godless totalitarianism. That our well-meaning legislators should have been misled, by these people, into meddling with our time-tested common law is a cause for concern. Matters of heart and conscience should be the subject, not of legislation, but of education. If the Act is not modified, or removed; then injustices, similar to that inflicted upon Eric Sides, will be repeated—Yours, etc., S. D. PEPPERLE. May 13, 1981.
