Shetland blast
An explosion at the Shetland s Sullom Voe oil terminal while the Queen was opening it was not caused by an equipment fault, according to BP. Policemen investigating an I.R.A. claim that it was responsible for the blast have been given the result of BP’s investigation. BP did not say specifically that the blast had been caused by a bomb. But the disclosure that there was no malfunction is certain to increase speculation that the I.R.A.’s weekend claim to have planted a bomb was no idle boast, -s' London.
