Committee 'inconsistent’
The National Advisory Committee on Hospital Boards had "not been consistant'’ when considering fuel and power charges for the North Canterbury . Hospital Board, the board's finance committee was told yesterday. ’ * The advisory committee has told the board, that it would be- "impracticable, if not impossible’’ fop it to give special consideration to the colder climate of the South Bland when assessing the level of maintenance grants. Mr C. F. Whitty said that
the committee was inconsistent because it had previously made a special grant to the board for the power charges. The advisory committee said , that there were many areas of “cost differential’’ between boards, and it could not give each : one special consideration. The finance committee will write to 4he advisory committee, pointing out that it had previously made a special grant and asking why a change has been made.
