Top award copier
Nine years of development and research into the Gestetner Faxil concept of duplicating has brought electronics and silicon-chip technology to automate the traditional stencil process. The Gestetner 1566 Duplicator, winner of the coveted Industrial Design Award at the Hanover Fair, incorporates many newly designed features to produce a machine which is as automated as possible-. Easy, to operate, flexible and clean in use and totally reliable, the new machine has easy maintenance and low-frequency servicing requirements. Duplicating thus remains the least expensive method of copying. The 1566 is controlled by a single lever which will automatically load the master, pre-ink the machine and revolve the correct number of times to give perfect ink distribution. It will then pro-
duce a perfect first copy, shut down at the end of the run and reprogramme the machine.
At this point, the unique master-ejection feature of the 1566 can be selected by the operator, who simply presses the eject button. Three turns of the handle strips the master from the ink screen, deposits it in a disposable cartridge and positions the fixing bar ready for automatic loading of the next master.
Alternatively, the master can be rerun or removed for filing. An electronic digital display counter indicates the number of copies selected and counts down to zero, shutting off the machine and resetting to the original number.
A vertical print, height adjuster progressively adjusts the position of the image on the page by a lever operated
by finger-tip pressure.
"The Gestetner Faxil 1566 programme is a culmination of a concerted and sustained team effort combining the latest developments in electronic and engineering techniques." says Mr W. A. Sansom. N.Z.’ Gestetner sales manager.
"The result is a new generation of Gestetner duplicators designed to cater for today's modern office requirements. but with built-in features to cope with the demands of tomorrow."
Following the successful European release of the Gestetner Faxil, when orders in excess of two million deutschmark were taken at Hanover in eight days, the new duplicator is currently being released in New Zealand by the distributors, Armstrong and Springhall, Ltd. (By K. O’Quinn of Armstrong and SpringhalFs Gestetner division.)
