Extradition sought

Auckland ~ A fraud squad detective flew to Sydney yesterday to seek the extradition of an Ellerslie businessman accused of tricking an Auckland furnishing company over a $450,000 import deal Nigel Benhalack, aged 39, was arrested in Sydney and appeared in the Sydney Centrai,;Court’.bn Monday on a provisional warrant issued in Auckland.
He did not plead to a charge of obtaining a letter of credit for $456,584 from the firm on February 6, payable to Inter Market Result. Ltd,. by falsely pretending that he had a current import licence authorising the importation into. New Zealand of a quantity of MK 111 programmable games. J. Bennalack was refused bail.
