DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ON-LINE NATIONWIDE APPLICATION THE DEPARTMENT. OF HEALTH has, over the past _ Ive years, established a data processing division with a computer centre in Christchurch, serving computer systems users on-line to hospital boards throughout the country. We are seeking to strengthen our establishment with personnel at various levels who have proven records in on-line systems design, data base techniques and demonstrable implementation skills. THE HARDWARE: DEC System-10 configuration which includes KI processors, Front End PDPll’s, RPO6 and RPO4 disc drives and high speed tape units. THE APPLICATIONS: Two major core systems are being developed and implemented at hospitals or hospital board offices. These cover the areas of patient administration and medical information using a large interactive data base and staff management information payroll system. In addition the D.P. Division is transferring to its machine around 70 smaller systems previously run by hospital boards using bureaux or small in-house machines.
