Moves on franc?
NZPA-AFP Paris The Bank of France is preparing to raise its basic interest rate from 13.5 to 16 per cent, to shore up the value of the French franc within the European Monetary System (E.M.S.) informed sources said vesterday.
The French franc has been depressed in reaction to the victory of the socialist, Francois Mitterrand, in the Presidential election.
