Bee Gees drop lawsuit

NZPA Adelaide Legal action in America and Britain involving the pop group, the Bee Gees, their manager, Robert Stigwood, and the Polydor International Record Company, has ended. The Robert Stigwood Organisation’s Australian publicist, Patti Mostyn. said yesterday that all allegations and claims by the Bee Gees, particularly those made against Mr Stigwood and his company, had been unreservedly withdrawn. Miss Mostyn said the Bee Gees deeply regretted the distress caused by the allegations made ostensibly in their name and continued to

have the utmost regard for their long-time manager. Mr Stigwood and the Bee Gees would continue their association and a new album being recorded by the group in' America would be released world-wide on R.S.O. records. Polydor International distributes the records. The Bee Gees filed suit in the New York State Court in October last year claiming $6O million, from Mr Stigwood for alleged fraud and conflict df' interest.

They claimed he had framed inadequate recording contracts and delayed payment of thousands of dollars in royalties. Mr Stigwood later issued a counter-suit.
