Information sought
The police are seeking information about this smoke cartridge which was used in the “paint bombing” of the British High Comtnision trade office in Christchurch last Wednesday. It is a cardboard roll about half the size of a shotgun cartridge. Both ends were sealed with wax with a
small hole at the centre, presumably for a wick. The cartridge emitted thick, dark grey smoke, said Detective Senior-Sergeant M. Griebel. The cartridge resembles a “Mighty Cannon” fire cracker, and bears the words “Ozark Smoke. Do Not Hold in Hand. For Outdoor Use Only.”
