Gang proposals
Parliamentary reporter Concrete proposals to implement recommendations of the Comber committee on violence and gangs will go to the Cabinet within the next eight weeks. The Cabinet yesterday discussed . the report of the committee, which was chaired by the Under-Secre-tary of Internal Affairs (Mr Comber), and has referred the recommendations to the appropriate Ministers.
“We have given them a date of early in July for concrete proposals to implement those recommendations,” said the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon). “Alternatively, if they think they should not or cannot be implemented, the same applies,” he said. “It does not mean that they will have to wait until that time, but that is the latest date we would expect them to come back.
