Mav 16, 1981, the following roads will be closed to ord : inary vehicular traffic for' the period indicated hereunder. ROADS TO BE CLOSED AND PERIODS OF CLOSURE: 1. Malvern Hills Road: Between State Highway 73 at Sheffield and State Highway 72 at Coalgate. Time of closurg:. 8.30 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. . 2. Hartleys Road. From Whitecliffs Domain to the junction of .Pig Saddle and Waianiwaniwa Roads. Pig Saddle Road: Between Waianiwaniwa and .Wyridale Roads. Time of closure: 9 a.m. to 12.15-p.m. ALTERNATIVE PROVISIONS FOR ORDINARY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC: Because of the relatively short duration of each closure, no alternative arrange: ments have been made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would normally use the road. It will be an offence under the above Regulatior/i for any person other than under the authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure. ZTX Ministry of Works \Z/ and Development WAIMAKARIRI GORGE : SH 72 BRIDGE REPAIRS UNDER SECTION 13 of the National Roads Act 1953, notice is hereby given that during strengthening work on the Waimakariri Gorge Bridge the following restrictions will apply: (a) Intermittent Closure: The bridge may be closed for periods of up to 1 hour duration on any day with opening times of 5 minutes each hour, on the hour. . (b) Width Restriction: The approaches and bridge will be restricted to vehicler not exceeding 3.300 metres in width. This restriction will particularly affect Agricultural machinery travelling under clause 48 of the Traffic Regulations 1976. (c) Total Closure: The bridge will be totally closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday May 18, 1981. No bypass route is available. . Due to delays with the progress of the repair works it is now anticipated that the above restrictions will remain in force until Saturday, June 13, 1981 ’ P. F. Reynolds.
