Advocate on disabled
PA Auckland A request for a public advocate or “ombudsman” for the disabled has been included in a petition handed to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet) in Auckland yesterday. The petition, made by two handicapped Auckland men. Bruce Burgess and Edward Evans, who organised “Project Bebe” for the disabled, and signed by several thousand, includes several submissions to Parliament on the rights and needs of handicapped people.
