Progress in hold-up inquiry
The police are “making progress” in their investigation into Tuesday’s armed hold-up of the Woolston agency of the Bank of New Zealand, said Detective Inspector N, J. Stokes yesterday. Mr Stokes said that the team of 15 detectives were making inquiries into “a number of interesting aspects” of the incident. A masked man entered the bank in Ferry Road about 11.30 a.m. and demanded that staff fill a bag with bank notes. He was armed with a double-barrel shotgun.
