PA .-'qP Hastings The foriner top sprinter, Stevo (Rich Gift—Strawberry Tart), tpllapsed and died at the week-end on the property of his Hastings.: ‘owner and trainer, Mr .Bill. Stephens. Stevo had z been * retired from racing after a wind operation had shown little success. Stevo, the ■winner of numerous races in New Zealand and a couple in Australia, held five traces records at one stage in his career. ; } He still holds the national 1000 m record, 57.75, which he set at Riccarton in 1978.
