Two admit charges
PA Auckland Two young men have been committed to the High Court for sentence after pleading guilty at the end of a depositions hearing to a charge arising from the murder of a taxi driver, Daniel Claud Harkin. They were Fariu Junior Fariu, aged 18, unemployed, and Leslie Ruibin Howe, aged 20, a labourer, both of Ponsonby, who are jointly charged that on or about.

October 6, knowing that two youths had been parties to the murder of Mr Harkin, they actively suppressed evidence against them to enable them to avoid arrest. The defendants, who appeared before Mr A. R. Gorbey and Mrs A. V. Fitzpatrick, justices of the peace, in the District Court at Auckland were remanded on bail to the High Court on June 5 for a probation report and sentence.
