Mrs King dropped
The tennis star, Billie Jean King, has been dropped as an advertising representative for the E. R. Squibb Company, a drug manufacturer, the New Zealand Press Association reports from New York. The New York ‘Daily News* said in a front-page story that Mrs King’s contract with Squibb, which began about a year ago, was discontinued, and she no longer will advertise Thera-gran-M vitamins. The company claimed Mrs King's involvement in a palimony suit had nothing to do with this decision. Mrs King, a former Wimbledon tennis champion, recently acknowledged she had a homosexual affair with Marilyn Bennett, her former secretary, who brought the suit. The ‘News* also reported that several other companies Mrs King represents were ‘ill at; case 1 ?over the recent publicity. ■■ Those firms include Nike shoes, Yonex tennis rackets and resin substance called Power Grip....
