Cows dominated the prime cattle sale at Addington market yesterday The best of the cows, steers, and heifers sold at last week’s rates, but lighter sorts were cheaper. Values for lighter steers and heifers declined between $5 to $lO, but larger steers sold well. At least half of the yarding consisted of boner cows. The best of these sold readily, but too many light-weights were offered. These made down to $95. The best steer price was $492 for the best of nine Herefords from Miss J. R. Anderson (Charteris Bay). The best heifer price was $368 for a Friesian-Hereford cross from A. D. Greenslade (Alford Forest) and $394 was paid for a Friesian cow from H. O. and S. J. Haylock (Greenpark).
