Human Rights Commission
Sir. — I am wondering if the Human Rights Commission is not a bit past the interests of the individual. The commission purports to be for the rights of the individual. What is Mr Eric Sides? Is he not an individual who also has equal rights to be able to choose for himself the method that he sees fit in selecting his own employees. Every employer in the country has the right’ to select his staff on the merits of each applicant. Employers pay the wages, not the Human Rights Commission. I wonder if Mr James J. Bambrough and his 100 friends would like the commission to tell them who they are going to employ. It is time the Human Rights Commission looked at real injustices such as child labour, wife-bashers, destitute people, people who have no one to turn to for help. — Yours, etc., D. LIMMER.
