New sports adviser

Mr Barry Truman, of Wellington, has been appointed to the position of sports adviser for the New Zealand Council of Recreation and Sport. Mr Truman came to New Zealand from England ten years ago. He spent eight years as Director of Coaching for the New Zealand Football Association and the last two years he has undertaken a Masters Degree in

Recreation Administration at Victoria University. In his new position Mr Truman will liaise with sporting bodies and educational groups, and encourage all facets of sport — including coaching, administration, and facilities. He will be responsible for advising the council and Government agencies on policies in sup--*port of sport.
