NEW PLYMOUTH CITY ELECTRICITY DEPARTMENT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER A VACANCY EXISTS on the staff of the New Plymouth City Electricity Department for a suitably experienced electrical engineer to take over responsibility for the construction and maintenance of the Department’s Distribution system and to assist with planning and design associated with the distribution system. Applicants should be registered engineers. The Electricity Department is a medium sized supply authority supplying 21,000 consumers from a mixed urban, and rural distribution system covering an area of 590 square kilometre. The Department also operates a small hydro generating station and has a large trading section. Considerable system growth is expected over the next few years as projects associated with the use of Maui gas get under way. Salarv will be in the range of $20,949 to $24,622 depending on qualifications and experience and assistance will be given with housing and transfer expenses.
