No. 125 Scarborough Road, Sumner, sold for $75,100 at auction on Tuesday, nearly twice its Government valuation (1979) of $39,000. The two-bedropmed house, which is about 50 years old, is made ,of stone and has a Marseilles tile roof. It has a separate dining room, a sunroom with French doors and a 1715 sq m section with panoramic views. The auctioneer was Mr J. W. Turnbull, of Cathcart and Turnbull. On Wednesday, a brick veneer bungalow with a concrete tiled roof at 23 Vancouver Crescent sold at mortgagee auction for $26,000. The house is about 20 years old and has three bedrooms, Gibraltar board linings, and a floor area of about 100 sq m. The section is 622 sq m. The property was sold by Mr H. Morrison, of Dalgety N.Z., Ltd, subject to existing tenancies. Also on Wednesday, a weatherboard bungalow with an iron roof at 236 Westminster Street, St Albans, was passed in at $17,000. The Government valuation (1979) is $16,700. The house is about 50 years old, and has two living rooms with open fireplaces, two bedrooms and a section of 764 sq m. The auctioneer was Mr M. H. McCrostie, of N. R. McCrOstie and Company. A three-bedromed split stone veneer flat at 9B Ingrid Street fetched $20,500 at mortgagee auction on Wednesday. The four-year-old flat has a Monier tile roof and a garage. The
auctioneer was Mr W. Anderson of Smiths City Market. On Thursday, No, 39 Leinster Road, Merivale, a twostorey concrete block house on a 1095 sq m section, sold at auction for $67.500., The Government valuation (1979) is $43,000. Th house, which is about 35 years old, has two bedrooms, a separate dining room and a built-in double garage, on the property is a tool shed and a glasshouse. Mr M. H. McCrostie, of N. H. McCrostie and Company, auctioned the property for the trustees of the estate of Mr R. O. Warren. On Thursday, a 20-year-old weatherboard bungalow at 21 Yarmouth Street, Wainoni, was passed back at auction to the mortgagee (the Housing Corporation) for $16,800 but was sold soon afterwards. The G.V. (1979) is $18,500. The house, which is on a 672 sq. m section, has three bedrooms, a combined kitchen and diningroom, and has a concrete tile roof. Mr G. Woodley, of Binns, Barber and Keenan, conducted the auction. On .Friday, a small brick house with a concrete tile roof at 71 Winchester street, Merivale. sold at auction for $50,000. The G.V. (1979) is $35,000. The house, which is on ,a 921 sq. m section, has two bedrooms, a combined lounge and diningroom, and a single garage. It is about 25 years old. The property was auctioned by Mr M. H. McCrostie, of N. H. McCrostie and Company.
