Cardiac surgery
Sir, — I found a very reassuring article (April 27), “Doctors told to keep up.” I am wondering if this is what all the troi ble of our cardiac surgery is all about — keeping abreast of new knowledge and skills? Perhaps our Christchurch cardiologists have felt this to be so for some time now. Perhaps now, our Government may look into this aspect of surgery in Dunedin? This could be a major factor in why our South Island people are having to go to Greenlane Hospital for specialised, up-to-date surgery. — Yours, etc., (Mrs) JANET DRURY. APRIL 28, 1981.
