Goodwill cargo for Crete
The container ship Encounter Bay, owned by the Scottish:,Shire Lines, Ltd, is carrying a special food parcel to Greece. As a gesture of goodwill, it is transporting a quantity of New Zealand wines, beer and food delicacies for the celebrations of the fortieth anniversary of the Battle of Crete. It will berth at Piraeus next Monday, in time for the foodstuffs to be forwarded to the island for the celebrations. One hundred dozen oysters are included in the parcel. Some of the foodstuffs will also be served at the New Zealand Embassy when it celebrates the opening of its new building in Athens this month. Heading the New Zealand delegation at the Crete anniversary will be the New Zealand Minister of Defence (Mr Thomson), ARRIVALS Union Hobart (7 • a.m), 4376, Dunedin (U.S.S.).
