Scotland marathon
NZPA Edinburgh Scotland is to get its own marathon next year, after the great success of the London marathon last month. The Scottish Sports Council announced yesterday that since the London Marathon there had been an enormous
upsurge of interest in the possibility, of staging an event in Scotland. The council was now considering venues for the run, and said it would promote the event at the end of the 1982 athletic season. It hoped to attract top international athletes.
