Heavy demand for report
A decision might be made today to print more copies of the report of the Royal Commission on the Mount Erebus DCIO disaster. The Government Printer, Mr P. D. Hasselberg, said late yesterday that demand for the 166-page report hau been “fairly heavy” since it went on sale at Government Bookshops on Monday afternoon.
The Government printing Office printed about 4700 — more than any other commission report, Mr Hasselberg said.
Some Government Bookshops have already had their supplies of the 58.60 report replenished, though Mr Hasselberg said initial supplies had been kept low for security reasons. Demand for copies would be reviewed later today to see if a reprint was needed, he said. Sales were heavier than those of the report by the Chief Inspector of Air Accidents, Mr R. Chippindale. The initial print run, published last June, had been about 2000 and a second print run was needed.
