Candidates can come from any area of Plant Biology, but preference may be given to those with interests in a field-oriented area of plant physiology or physiological ecology. A PhD and teaching experience are required. The successful applicant will be expected to take up his appointment in February 1982, Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in the Lecturer scale: SF9IG9-$12,832. In addition the University provides gratuity amounting to 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance, partly funished accommodation at 12J per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance in lieu of superannuation of 10 pei - cent of standard salary. In some cases this allowance may be paid directly to the appointee’s existing superannuation scheme subject to decision on acceptability of the scheme by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue, Fiji. Appointment will be for a contract period of three years and may be renewable by mutual agreement.
