Police seek detonators
The Christchurch police are anxious, to recover five warning detonators stolen from New Zealand Railways between April 13 and yesterday. The detonators are 50mm (2in) in diameter, 6mm ( J Ain) thick, painted with red oxide, with metal securing bands around them. They have the figures. 7 and 8, stamped on top with the word, “explosives,” on the under side. 5 In the wrong hands, the detonators are considered dangerous.
