Costs of fluoridation
Installing and running a fluoridation and chlorination plant in Christchurch would cost $1.5 million, according to the Pure Waetr Association.
Latest ■ figures ; discussed by the Christchurch City Council put the cost of buying and installing fluoridation equipment at $943,000 plus $153,155 for annual running costs, Costs for chlorinating the city’s water would be on top of this.
Mr C. G. Marshall, spokesman for the Pure Water Association, said it was not the community at large which was demanding fluoridation* but the medical and dental professions and certain Health Department officials*
