Suspect held
NZPA Sydney West German detectives were expected to join the Australian police in questioning a suspected member of the Baader-Meinhof guerrilla group arrested in a lightning raid, at Sydney on Saturday. The German, aged 33, was believed to be Hans Peter Knoll, wanted for almost a decade by West German police for attempted murder, arson and robbery, said Inspector A. Wells, of the Federal Police. The police said the man entered Australia up to two years ago and was traced through Asia to Sydney by two West German detectives.
He was arrested’ after armed Federal police backed up by a helicopter rushed a house in suburban Peakhurst and smashed through the front door. , The man, who ’Offered 1 no resistance, was charged with .being a prohibited immigrant • The police charged an Australian woman, aged 20j who was in the house, with harbouring an illegal immigrant. The police found - narcot-. ics and several false /passports: in the house. The man and woman will' appear in court today.
